Description

An upturned V, transformed from a structural support element into a strong decorative feature, characterises the Easel cabinets.

With a frame in Moka-coloured ash and supports in glossy Pewter-coloured aluminium, Easel comes in three versions: cabinet for the living area, cabinet for the dining area and vertical cabinet, for use individually or in pairs.

The element of surprise that distinguishes the design of Nendo is back: the true colours of what looks like a single front piece are slowly revealed in the form of doors or drawers with a sloping profile, following the lines of the decorative V shape.

The look of the cabinets is enhanced by a top in Calacatta or Stone Grey marble with bevelled edge, expressing the characteristic ability of Minotti to combine different materials and create an original, distinctive design.

Minotti and Oki Sato, Japanese designer born in 1977, first came into contact in 2017.

Multi-talented, poetic and original, in 2002, Oki Sato opened the architecture and design firm Nendo, of which he is Chief Designer. Internationally renowned for his multi-faceted approach, which spans from graphic design to product design, and from architecture to the creation of installations, Oki Sato officially joined the Minotti team of designers in 2018.

With his light, fresh and minimal style, he creates designs with a big personality and a poetic touch.  He is mainly inspired by the manual work of master craftsmen and artisans, and by the interaction between people, objects and environment.

The creative synergy between Minotti and Oki Sato was expressed in 2018 with the launch of the Tape collection - a family of seats and tables characterized by a light silhouette and a strong identity - and the Ring and Waves coffee tables.

In 2019, the partnership continued, with Tape Cord Outdoor, the outdoor evolution of the award-winning and world-renowned Tape family, the Easel cabinets series and the Wedge table and coffee table.

In 2020, Oki Sato designed the Torii family of seats and furnishing accessories, available for both residential and Hospitality settings: a very detailed project that plays around with the roundness of the volumes, the thinness of the profiles and the apparent formal simplicity, at the same time highlighting the haute couture approach in Minotti’s distinctive sartorial craftsmanship.
