Description
Designed by Italian-Danish duo GamFratesi, Lido is a comfortable basket-like nest, with a round seat.
The design is inspired by the 1950s, one of the key themes of the 2021 Indoor Collection, expressed in a seat with a continuous, enveloping curved line that defines the padded body. The line recalls the typical stylistic marks of Brutalist architecture, with cushions adding a comfortable feel. The X-shaped sculptural base is its strong distinguishing mark.
The armchair is available in one size and with two types of bases. One is the X-shaped aluminium version covered in brushed ash with a Moka open-pore lacquered finish. The other features legs in solid wood: Moka lacquered open-pore brushed ash or matt polyester lacquered Dark Brown stained Canaletto walnut. A matching footstool completes the picture.
The tops of the legs feature an interesting decorative insert in Bronze varnished steel, elegantly distinguishing the point where the legs join the frame.
The family also includes little dining and lounge armchairs - only with legs in solid wood - and coffee tables in one size that sit on the iconic X-shaped aluminium base covered in ash with a Moka varnished finish, with round or square top, in Bianconero marble or brushed ash wood with a Moka open-pore lacquered finish.

GamFratesi
Minotti and GamFratesi began collaborating in 2018.
The design of GamFratesi, architecture firm established in 2006 in Copenhagen by Italian-Danish duo Stine Gam and Enrico Fratesi, is rooted in the perfect fusion of tradition and innovation, craftsmanship and technology, rigour and poetry.
With their different cultural backgrounds, Stine Gam and Enrico Fratesi model their creative intuitions into designs that draw from both the classic decor and artisan tradition of Denmark and the classic Italian intellectual and conceptual approach.
A tried and tested melting pot of styles, expressed in furniture, objects, and installations with a silent, never shouted elegance, in the production techniques used and in the meticulous attention to detail applied to the creations. The result is a sophisticated interpretation of Scandinavian minimalism, with subtle, yet striking Nordic hints.
In 2019, GamFratesi designed two indoor proposals for Minotti, namely the Angie armchair and dining little armchair and the Shelley armchair, also available in the lounge and dining little armchair versions. The partnership evolved and was strengthened in 2020 with the launch of the Fynn family of seats, in the armchair, lounge and dining little armchair, bench and coffee table versions. A project characterized by an ultra-light aesthetic, expressed in the indoor and outdoor versions, associating the creativity of fine cabinet-making found in the wooden elements with the sophisticated sartorial elegance of the fabric or saddle-hide coverings.
