Description

The welcoming nest shape of the Lido family by Italian-Danish duo GamFratesi defines its distinctive character. Inspired by the 1950s and softened by textured fabrics and comfortable, ergonomic cushions, the collection combines Brutalist architectural references with a refined, timeless aesthetic. The curved silhouette now extends to a compact two-seater sofa, ideal for both residential and Hospitality spaces. The sofa is raised on four solid wood legs in Moka open-pore ash or Dark Brown-stained Canaletto walnut, or can rest on the iconic X-shaped aluminium base with Moka open-pore ash finish. A Bronze-coloured varnished steel insert enhances the base and legs. The Lido family also includes armchairs, ottomans, lounge and dining little armchairs, as well as coffee tables with round or square tops in Bianconero marble or Moka open-pore lacquered ash.

GamFratesi

Minotti and GamFratesi began collaborating in 2018. The design of GamFratesi, architecture firm established in 2006 in Copenhagen by Italian-Danish duo Enrico Fratesi and Stine Gam, is rooted in the perfect fusion of tradition and innovation, craftsmanship and technology, rigour and poetry. With their different cultural backgrounds, Stine Gam and Enrico Fratesi model their creative intuitions into designs that draw from both the classic decor and artisan tradition of Denmark and the classic Italian intellectual and conceptual approach.

A tried and tested melting pot of styles, expressed in furniture, objects, and installations with a silent elegance, in the production techniques used and in the meticulous attention to detail applied to the creations. The result is a sophisticated interpretation of Scandinavian minimalism, with many subtle, yet striking Nordic hints.
