Lino Codato
Lino Codato (1951–2008) was an Italian designer and architect who played an important role in the development of contemporary furniture and interior design. He was born in Castelnuovo del Garda, near Verona, and after graduating from an art school, he specialized in scenography at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Venezia, graduating in 1970. He began his professional career as an interior designer and gained extensive experience in the furniture and furnishing industry.
In 1982, Codato founded his own design studio, initially in Verona and later moving to Castelfranco Veneto as the studio expanded. His professional approach brought together industrial design, interior design, architecture, graphic design, and communication. He was known for combining creative research with an understanding of materials, production, and clients’ practical needs. His studio continues to operate as Lino Codato Design & Communication, carrying forward the multidisciplinary design approach he established.
