Description

The line of the horizon that the sun drops into at sunset.

Minimalism and poetry come together in the Sunset lighting collection, a design inspired by the hypnotic moment when the sun disappears beyond the horizon. Designed by Debiasi Sandri Studio, the collection explores the boundary between light and shadow through a pure, essential geometry, transforming a natural phenomenon into a luminous object.

The collection comprises wall and ceiling lights defined by a cylindrical form divided into two sections. One half is concealed by a painted metal crescent, an element that serves a dual purpose: discreetly housing the technical components while giving the fixture its distinctive visual identity. This clean, decisive line evokes the horizon, suggesting the point where light fades and gradually gives way to darkness. The thick acid-etched glass diffuser gently filters the light source, creating a warm, soft glow that brings a calm, balanced and welcoming atmosphere to the surrounding space.

Daniel Debiasi & Federico Sandri

Daniel Debiasi and Federico Sandri found their own design studio in 2010. Based in Bolzano and Verona, they work within various fields of product design, while sometimes they also design exhibitions and consult companies on design-related strategies. Their collaboration evolves along a continuous dialogue encouraged by spatial, cultural and behavioural observations.

Multiple experiments with different materials and processes, and the relationship between manufacture and craftsmanship form the basis for a much broader thinking where objects are always considered as part of a bigger picture. Daniel Debiasi and Federico Sandri have created work for renowned clients such as Antoniolupi, Lema, Ligne Roset, Normann Copenhagen, Penta and Stelton among others. Many of their projects have received international design awards and are featured in publications worldwide.
