A distinctive silhouette, characterised by overlapping rounded volumes with a clear 60s and 70s influence, brings the Coupé seating system by Giampiero Tagliaferri to life. The designer describes Coupé as “a seating experience that is both nostalgic and forward-thinking,” reinterpreting classic forms through a contemporary lens. Inspired by 20th-century modernism, its soft forms are enriched by couture-inspired details, including tone-on-tone longitudinal stitching in the leather version. The enveloping shapes and ergonomic inclined seat ensure maximum comfort, while the padded headrest and lumbar cushions create a dynamic visual balance that highlights the sofa’s distinctive profile.

Coupé combines a deep respect for the past with modern functionality, offering flexible layouts through both modular combinations and individual pieces. A standout is the generous couch with its distinctive double inclination. The system is completed by a curved aluminium frame, available varnished or brushed polished, which protects the upholstered base while enhancing the overall silhouette.

Structure: Plywood structure with high-resilience, variable-density polyurethane foam and steel pocket springs for enhanced comfort and durability. The customized seat inclination optimizes ergonomics, while breathable hypoallergenic quilted fibre adds softness. The backrest, armrest and headrest are padded with high-loft fibre, and the lumbar cushion features removable fabric- or leather-covered buttons for easy upholstery removal.

Cushions: Optional cushions are padded in channelled goose down. The goose down is subject to routine sanitization as specified in EC Regulation No. 1069/2009 (Assopiuma Gold Label certified). The 75x65 cm cushion has an additional high-resilience polyurethane foam insert in temperature-sensitive material. The cushions are then encased in breathable heat-bonded fibre laminated to white hypoallergenic cotton fabric.

Covers: Upholstery is completely removable in all versions (fabric and leather).

Base: Curved drawn aluminium, present on the front and rear of the upholstered base, is decorative and also protects the upholstery. Available in polished brushed aluminium or in aluminium with varnished polished anti-fingerprint finish in Black Coffee or Birch Grey colour. Rests on 45 mm H polypropylene feet and black SEBS glides.
