Description
The Lido family, by the GamFratesi studio, is a design that perfectly expresses Minotti’s will to create a single design for different environments, indoors and outdoors. The technology and materials employed to make its components play a key role in defining its ideal use.
Lido Cord Outdoor is comprised of a sofa, armchair, footstool, dining and lounge little armchairs, all with an enveloping design that conveys the idea of a comfortable nest.
The sofa has a unique organic shape and is characterised by a Bronze-coloured varnished aluminium base with polished anti-touch finish, the ultimate distinguishing mark of its bold sculptural look. On one hand it offers a formal seat, on the other its depth is extended, becoming a bergère, with backrest in the shape of a soft nest. A veritable invitation to lie back and relax in a cosier, more relaxing way.
The structure of the backrest is in Bronze-coloured varnished stainless steel, covered with polypropylene cords in bright tones such as Citron, Blue and Petroleum, or the more traditional shades of Dark Brown and Sand.
A selection of fabrics in certified and recyclable polypropylene completes the Lido design, in shades that recall the colour palette of the cords.
The armchair, footstool, dining and lounge little armchairs rest on legs in Dark Brown stained solid mahogany or solid teak, while the coffee tables reiterate the design of the aluminium sofa base.
The coffee tables come in four sizes and two heights, with circular or square top in brushed, fine-grain Basaltina stone, which rests on the nest-shaped base

GamFratesi
Minotti and GamFratesi began collaborating in 2018.
The design of GamFratesi, architecture firm established in 2006 in Copenhagen by Italian-Danish duo Stine Gam and Enrico Fratesi, is rooted in the perfect fusion of tradition and innovation, craftsmanship and technology, rigour and poetry.
With their different cultural backgrounds, Stine Gam and Enrico Fratesi model their creative intuitions into designs that draw from both the classic decor and artisan tradition of Denmark and the classic Italian intellectual and conceptual approach.
A tried and tested melting pot of styles, expressed in furniture, objects, and installations with a silent, never shouted elegance, in the production techniques used and in the meticulous attention to detail applied to the creations. The result is a sophisticated interpretation of Scandinavian minimalism, with subtle, yet striking Nordic hints.
In 2019, GamFratesi designed two indoor proposals for Minotti, namely the Angie armchair and dining little armchair and the Shelley armchair, also available in the lounge and dining little armchair versions. The partnership evolved and was strengthened in 2020 with the launch of the Fynn family of seats, in the armchair, lounge and dining little armchair, bench and coffee table versions. A project characterized by an ultra-light aesthetic, expressed in the indoor and outdoor versions, associating the creativity of fine cabinet-making found in the wooden elements with the sophisticated sartorial elegance of the fabric or saddle-hide coverings.
